Terms of Use
Last updated: October 23, 2026
These terms govern your use of Reading Cat (part of Just Read It), provided by Datwork ("we", "us"). By signing in or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The service
Reading Cat is a reading app. It lets you read books from our library and texts you add yourself, look up words and sentences, and keep track of your reading. We may add, change or remove features and content at any time.
2. Apple's terms
You download the app from the Apple App Store. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your use of it, together with these terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, for support, or for any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you once you accept them.
3. Your account
- You sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID and your device secure and for what happens under your account.
- You must be old enough to use the app under the law where you live, and at least 13 years old.
- You can stop using the app, or ask us to delete your account, at any time. See the Support page.
4. Your content
Articles you type or paste remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and display them to you, and to send the text you look up to our language services, only as needed to run the app for you.
You are responsible for your content. Only add text you have the right to use, and do not add text that is unlawful or infringes anyone's rights. We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms or the law.
5. Library content
Books and illustrations in the library belong to us or to their respective owners, and are made available for your personal reading inside the app. You may not copy, scrape, redistribute or resell them.
6. Translations and explanations
Dictionary entries, translations and explanations are generated automatically. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they are meant to help you learn, not to replace a professional translator, teacher or dictionary. Please do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial or other decisions that matter.
7. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- misuse the service, or try to disrupt it, overload it or gain access you are not allowed to have;
- use automated means to access the service, or to collect books, dictionary entries or translations in bulk;
- reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
- use the service to break the law or to harm others.
8. Availability
We work to keep the service running, but it may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. The app needs an internet connection for most features. We do not promise it will always be available or error-free.
9. Intellectual property
The app, its design, code, name and logo belong to Datwork or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we have to by law. After your account is deleted, the sections of these terms that by their nature should continue to apply will remain in effect.
11. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not give any warranty, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data or profit, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Datwork is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live still apply to you.
